Gail Aylward
Gail has been meditating for many years, starting in 1994 with a 10 day silent retreat in India, Bodhgaya, the sacred place where the Buddha got enlightened.
Two years earlier, whilst living and working in London and pregnant with her first child, Gail attended her first Hatha Yoga class in London, and felt straight away the benefits of this practice.
She has continued to practice both meditation and yoga and in 2009 was certified by the British School of Yoga. As part of her training, she studied with Judith Lasater and became a relax and renew instructor, and saw how important relaxation is in ones life.
In 2005 she co-founded Moulin de Chaves meditation retreat centre, S W France. The same year she became a student of The Diamond Approach, an embodied practice cultivating presence whilst using the art of inquiry. Deeply inspired by these teachings, she followed their 10 year teacher training, and in 2021 Gail was ordained as a Teacher/ Minister in the Diamond Approach school.
Married to meditation teacher Martin Aylward, and with two adult children, Gail understands well the challenges of raising a family, having a job, being in a relationship and how the past can influence the present
Upcoming Programs by Gail Aylward
Awake Where You Are : Through meditation, embodied movement and inquiry practices
Also With Martin Aylward
This week will offer practices and qualities of presence, relaxation and deep curiosity, that as we practice may also highlight the ways we are not present, and contactful, how we lose ourselves in defences and distractions, lost in thought, lost in habits. We’ll explore conditioned habits and beliefs, seeing how they can be recognised, understood and transformed, with the invitation of calling ourselves back home in each moment ((This retreat will be held in silence. It conforms to the criteria necessary for Mindfulness Instructors in Training).
