A place where we can step out of the current of things and find our footing again.

There are times in life when we come close to what is vulnerable; in ourselves, in those around us, and in the situations we find ourselves in. This may happen in the context of work, in caring for others, or simply in the course of living. Illness, change, loss, love, and uncertainty are not separate experiences; they are part of what it means to be human.

In different ways, we are all involved in care. We care for our own bodies and minds, for the people close to us, and at times for those we meet more briefly. In doing so, we encounter both the depth of connection and the limits of what we can hold on to.

This retreat offers space to turn towards these experiences with attention and care, and to explore how we relate to them in ways that are sustaining rather than depleting.

Across these days together, we take time to stay with questions that are simple in form, yet often unresolved in daily life. How do we remain open in the face of change? What does it mean to let go without losing connection? How do we stay close to what matters, even as it shifts or passes?

In a quiet and carefully held setting, we cultivate practices that support steadiness, receptivity, and a sense of inner spaciousness. Through meditation, Dharma teachings, and shared reflection, attention becomes more settled and at the same time more responsive. This allows us to meet experience with greater clarity, sensitivity, and resilience, including those aspects of life that are uncertain, fragile, or difficult to face.

The emphasis of this retreat is not on resolving or overcoming these realities, but on how we live in relationship to them, with ourselves and with one another. As this relationship deepens, something begins to shift. Endings are no longer something to resist, and beginnings are recognised more fully. Letting go and holding on are seen less as opposites, and more as movements within the same unfolding life.

In this way, care is no longer something we do for others, but something we participate in ourselves. Giving and receiving are not separate, and attention is not an additional task but part of what sustains us. Tending to our inner life becomes part of how we remain available to the world around us.

Participants will leave with a clearer sense of what matters and with a renewed experience of connection; within themselves, in relation to others, and within the wider fabric of life.
